Passwords and such confidential personal information are regularly stolen by criminals. These have serious security and privacy implications.  We have undertaken a few projects in this area to prevent such compromises. Users should educate themselves about these attacks and inculcate best practices in their daily routines. Categorically there are these three attack vectors for password theft:
